Adult newts have lizard-like bodies and may be either fully aquatic, living permanently in the water, or semi-aquatic, living terrestrially on land.
Up to 6 inches
Life span up to 10 years
Feed the frog gut-loaded insects, including crickets, mealworms and wax worms, guppies and goldfish. Younger frogs daily, feed larger frogs every 2 – 3 days.
Newts do not need a large cage. A 10 gallon tank is fine for one of these newts. The temperature should be kept around 82 F during the day, dropping to around 78 F at night. They come from a humid environment so the substrate should be misted daily to help maintain humidity. They like to live on both land and water.
Bedding should be cleaned once a month. Waste should be removed weekly. Water dish should be changed daily, and as needed in order to keep clean.

Newts are not to be handled, because they do not like it since they have sensitive skin.
Water & Accessories
Large shallow water dish should be provided for them to soak in, low enough for them to be able to crawl in.
